Each Invisalign patient’s impressions are now taken with a digital 3-D scanner instead of the traditional messy putty, thanks to the iTero Digital Scanner. It allows for reduced appointment times while also providing greater precision for improved appliance fitting.
Here’s how it works: The patient’s teeth can be photographed in great detail using a scanning wand. Within minutes we have a 3D image from every angle of the mouth based on these photographs, which can be seen on our computer. Appliances can be installed more precisely and accurately thanks to the scanner’s clear image.

3D Aligner Printing
The integration of 3D printing technology has proven to be an invaluable tool for our office. When the iTero scanner is used in conjunction with our 3D printer, we are able to produce 3D models of your teeth that can be utilized to create more precise appliances. We can also 3D print the aligners used for clear aligner treatment by using the digital scan obtained from the iTero scanner. The iTero scanner sends accurate data about the patient’s teeth and jaw to the 3D printer, ensuring that the aligners fit the patient’s teeth correctly. This results in more comfortable and effective aligners.
Cone-Beam X-Rays
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) offers three-dimensional imaging that surpasses conventional X-rays or photographs. Cone-beam X-rays utilize a cone-shaped beam that rotates around the patient to capture images. These images are employed to generate three-dimensional representations of the patient’s teeth, jaw, nerve pathways, and soft tissues.
